1. INT. Bedroom night
Sho (age 18 Japanese boy) is sitting in front of hiscomputer. An information bar on the screen showing "DATA TRANSFERRING".Sho's mother （age 50 Japanese lady）knocks and opens the room door. Sheholds a tray with tea cups in her hands.
MOTHER
Have some tea, Sho.
Sho's mother slips. The tray and tea cups fall offher hand. Before the tray and tea cups hit the floor, they float in theair, eventhe tea is floating. Sho's mother is surprised. Sho turns his eyes fromhis computer, his fingerpoints at the tea cups. The floating tea drops start going back totea cups, then the tea cups goes back to top of the tray. The tray isstill floating and automatically stops on the top of a side table.
Sho's mother's face becomes serious.
MOTHER
What did I say! Hide your power, you don't need it.
Sho
I'm not using it the wrong way. It is helpful.
MOTHER
Don't use it, if you want to be safe.
Sho
All right, mom.
Sho's mother picks up a tea cup and gives it to Sho.Sho remains silent and drinks the tea. Another information bar comesup, showing "DATA TRANSFER COMPETE".
2. INT. bedroom day
Sho runs toward the room door, lifts his leg andkicks the door open. He gets into the room immediately. Sho'sstep-father (age 55, an ugly fat baldy, drunk), waving an empty glassbottle, hitting Sho's mother severely. Sho's mother is crying loudly.
Sho
WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!
Sho gets closer with anger and pushes his step-fatheraway. The glass bottle smashes on the ground, breaking into sharpshards. His step-father falls over the corner, looks at Sho and laughscrazily.
STEP-FATHER
You little piece of shit, how dare you yell at me like that!
Sho
Are you Okay mom?
He notices a bloody wound on his mother's forehead.
SHO (Cont'd)
You demon! What have you done!
STEP-FATHER
I'll beat the bitch to death, then kill you son of a bitch!
Sho raises his fist. His mother holds his legs withher arms, he could not move a step. Sho's step-father kicks her in thebelly and she faints. Sho is shocked, he tries to wake his mother up,she is unconscious. Then his face turns to red, he is furious. Heraises his right hand, points his index finger like a gun at hisstep-father standing opposite him.
STEP-FATHER (CONT'D)
(laughs loudly)
What's that? A gun? You wanna use that to kill me? Don't make me---
SHO
Bang.
Sho's step-father stands still, with a shocked face.He looks down at his chest, there is a bloody hole going through hisheart. He falls down heavily to the ground and lands on the glassshards. Sho looks shocked and scared, his hands shake uncontrollably.He hides himself behind a chair and closes his eyes.
3. int. office of police department night
Furuya (age 29 Japanese male, in gray suits) issitting in front the office desk. Kazami (age 27 Japanese male, wearinggray suits and glasses) is standing in front of him respectfully.Kazami has some documents in his hands. Kazami reads the paper toFuruya.
KAZAMI
The video camera shows the boy, Sho, used his fingerpointed to his step-father. But we can't arrest the boy since we didn'tfind the weapon. The only thing we understand is his step-father waskilled by a kind of bullet.
FURUYA
What if the boy has some super powers?
Kazami
I don't think so, Mr. Furuya. That's impossible.
FURUYA
Then how do you explain the situation?
KAZAMI
I don't know, Mr. Furuya.
Furuya stands up and turns. He slowly walks passes by Kazami.
FURUYA
Keep eyes on the boy. I need to find the answer.
KAZAMI
Copy it.
Kazami holds papers in his hands, bows, and then goesout of the office. Furuya stays in the office for a while, then goesout of the office too.
4. EXT. Rooftop of a police hospital day
Sho slightly opens a door and comes up to therooftop. He looks tired. There are eye bags below his eyes. There isnobody on the rooftop except Sho. Sho shuts the door and goes towardthe edge of the rooftop. He stops in front of the edge. His face isemotionless. He raises his right hand and points index finger like agun, to the corner the edge.
SHO
Come on...come on!
An air bullet shots and hits the edge. A shot markappeares. Sho is shocked. His hands shakes uncontrollably. The rooftopdoor opens again, Furuya and Kazami come out quietly. Furuya hasnothing in his hands. Kazami holds some documents. They come toward Shofrom the back. Sho notices them and turns his head quickly. He isfreaked out. Sho raises right hand points at them.
SHO
Stay back! I say stay back!!
Furuya and Kazami become alert. They stand still andkeep their eyes on Sho. They confront for a while. Furuya looks aroundand finds out the shot mark in the corner of the edge. He looks atKazami and shakes his head slightly. Kazami nods in silence and standsstill. Furuya turns his eyes back to Sho and opens his arms. There arenothing in his hands.
Furuya steps forward slowly but calmly. Sho begins tostep back. Sho's back clings to the edge of the rooftop. Furuya stepsforward continuesly. Sho falls down and tries to hide himself in thecorner. Sho begins to cry. He covers his head with both hands.
Furuya comes toward Sho and squats down. He puts hishands on Sho's shoulders. Sho cries continuesly. Furuya tries to calmhim down by embraces him slightly. Kazami stands still silently. Furuyaturns back and looks at Kazami. Furuya raises one hand and puts indexfinger in front his lips. Kazami nods in silence.
5. int. an empty room in the police hospital day
Sho is sitting in the corner of a bed silently.Furuya sits on a chair beside him. Kazami stands next to Furuya. Furuyahas some documents in his hands and reads them. Sho looks upset. Hefolds his hands. Furuya finishes reading the documents and looks up toSho.
FURUYA
Your mother is all right, she just needs good rest.Since you're a teenager and we can't find the weapon, your worstsituation is to be judged as guilty of manslaughter. So...
(pauses)Can you tell me something about your power?
Sho remains silent and does not reply.
FURUYA
Anyone else knows you have such a power, except your mother?
Sho remains silent. He keeps his eyes to the ground.
FURUYA (CONT'D)
I believe that you just want to protect your mother.But I feel like you don't understand how to control your power. Youwould face to a bad situation if you do nothing with that. I have aplan for you, calls the protection program. It can protect your motherand yourself. The question is, do you trust me?
Sho remains silent, but he raises his eyes and looksat Furuya. Furuya nods seriously. Sho turns to Kazami. Kazami looks atFuruya. Furuya nods. Kazami nods in silence.
6. int. Sho's mother's ward in the police hospital day
Furuya and Kazami are standing outside of the ward. They keep their eyes on Sho through the window.
Sho stands beside the bed, which his mother is lyingon. Nobody else in the ward. Sho'w mother looks weak. White sheetcovers her from shoulders to toes. Sho holds his mother's hand. Hespeaks to his mother. His mother answers. Sho smiles and shakes hishead. Sho's mother tries to sit up on the bed, Sho stands and helpsher. Sho gives his mother a glass of water. Sho's mother drinks somewater. She gives back the water to Sho. Sho shakes head with smile andputs the glass to sidetable. Sho sits back. Sho and his mother keeptalking.
After a while, Sho stands up and goes toward thedoor. He opens the door, goes out, and shuts the door slightly. Hismother stays in the room. Furuya and Kazami turns to Sho. Sho hesitatesfor a moment. Furuya and Kazami wait him to speak. Sho takes a sigh andlooks at them and speaks.
SHO
I'm sorry, officer. I can't tell the plan to my mom. She would't let me do that.
Furuya nods with understanding.
FURUYA
If that is your choice, I won't stop you. Kazami willhelp you in these days. Just listen to him. You can tell him ordirectly tell me if you change your mind.
Furuya turns to Kazami and gives him a sign. Kazami understands and nods. Furuya leaves shortly.
7. INT. SHo's bedroom night
Sho has a paper mail in his hands. He is nervous. He checks the mail for several times. Then he throws the mail to the ground.
INSERT: close-up to the paper mail. It is a rejection letter that Sho could not get into university due to his criminal record.
Sho is pissed off. He points at the paper mail. Themail flows in the air. Sho stops his action. He is thinking. The papermail flows for a moment, then drops back to the ground. Sho picks themail up by his hand. He tears the mail by his hands. Sho goes towardthe garbage bin near the room door. Sho throws the scraps of paper intothe garbage bin by his hands.
The door opens. Sho's mother is standing outside ofSho's room. She stares at the scraps of paper in the garbage bin. Sheturns and sheds tears.
SHO
I hate myself, mom.
Mother
I'm sorry, Sho, I'm so sorry.(pause) Even you changeyour name, people still recognize you. You're gifted with power, butthe power puts you into a worst end.(pause) I hope that I've nevermarried your step-father...I'm sorry.
Sho's mother cries and leaves. Sho stands still inhis room. He is puzzling. After a while, he shuts the room door andgoes closer to his desk. His smart phone is on the desk. Sho picks upthe phone and gazes at the screen. Sho writes a short message on hisphone.
INSERT: close-up of the screen. The text shows "I'm in."
Sho gazes at the screen and takes a deep sigh.
Sho puts Furuya's name on the top.
Sho closes eyes. He holds his fist.
Sho opens his eyes. His face becomes serious.
Sho taps the screen and sends the message.
FADE OUT
